About Treatment

My practice maintains a focus on high-functioning individuals who may struggle with challenges that others may not see from the outside. My clients tend to be introspective, intelligent, and empathetic, and as such, experience complex emotions while navigating the myriad roles in their lives. Many of my clients have not experienced therapy before. Others may have worked with therapists in the past but are looking for a more customized or nuanced approach.

As part of therapy, individuals learn how to utilize concrete skills to uplevel their day-to-day experiences as well as create long-term meaning. I harness modern therapeutic interventions and draw from my expertise in mindfulness practices, compassion-focused therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and trauma-focused interventions in order to empower my patients. I strive to meet clients where they are with compassion, curiosity, and warmth.

Teletherapy and In-person availability

I offer individual psychotherapy via telemedicine to adults in CA and NY and in-person options to adults in the state of California. I have an office space located in San Francisco available on Saturdays. I understand the challenges of fitting therapy into your busy work and home life. That is why teletherapy sessions are offered through HIPAA-compliant technology in a private and safe setting. Any questions you may have concerning your privacy and safety will be addressed in detail prior to any telemedicine or in-person session.

Cancellation Policy

There is a 48–hour cancellation policy. Sessions cancelled within 48 hours from the appointment's starting time will be charged the full session fee. For cancellations prior to 48 hours, there is no charge.

What to Expect

You will meet exclusively with me. During your initial consultation call, we'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to work on.  If appropriate, we will schedule an initial session to begin a diagnostic assessment. Once the assessment is complete, we will discuss treatment planning. Therapy sessions are scheduled weekly and last 50 minutes.

Healthcare decisions are grounded in the latest scientific research. I work collaboratively with clients to tailor treatment plans to fit their dynamic, multifaceted lives and needs, as well as address particular goals and priorities. My Stanford academic role has allowed me to consult weekly with leading industry experts, ensuring a holistic approach weaving in current evidence-based practices.

Fees and Insurance Coverage

Fees for individual therapy sessions align with other empirically trained PhD-level practitioners in the San Francisco Bay Area. I do not currently contract with insurance companies; therefore, I am an “out-of-network” provider.

Individuals are expected to pay for therapy at the beginning of each appointment. If your policy includes out-of-network benefits, a portion of your fees may potentially be covered by your insurance. Please contact your insurance carrier before your first appointment to determine your benefits.

I can provide documentation (a "superbill") that individuals may choose to submit to insurance companies for “out-of-network” reimbursement.
